Summary
A tree and a little boy were very close to each other.
The boy came to the tree every day to play.
He climbed her trunk and swung from her branches.
He ate the apples that the tree gave him.
The boy and the tree were happy together.
As time passed, the boy grew older.
He stopped coming to the tree every day.
The tree often felt lonely without the boy.
One day the boy came back to the tree.
The tree felt happy and asked him to play.
The boy said he was too big to play.
He said he wanted money to buy things.
The tree told him to take her apples and sell them.
The boy took the apples and went away happily.
The tree felt happy after helping him.
After a long time, the boy returned again.
The tree asked him to play once more.
The boy said he needed a house to live in.
The tree told him to cut her branches to build a house.
The boy cut the branches and went away happily.
The tree was happy even after losing her branches.
Many years passed and the boy returned again.
The tree was happy to see him again.
The boy said he wanted a boat to travel.
The tree told him to cut her trunk and make a boat.
The boy cut the trunk and sailed away.
The tree was left only as a stump.
After many years, the boy came back as an old man.
The tree said she had nothing left to give him.
The old man sat on the stump and rested quietly.
