Dear Rahul,

I hope you are doing well. I recently read the story “Ranji’s Magic Bat” and found it very inspiring.

The story is about Ranji, a young school cricketer, and Mr. Kumar, an elderly shopkeeper and former player who guides him. Ranji plays an important match but gets out for zero, which makes him lose confidence.

Seeing this, Mr. Kumar gives him an old bat, calling it “lucky.” Ranji believes him and plays well in the next match. However, when he loses the bat, he becomes worried again. At this point, Mr. Kumar explains that the bat has no real magic; it is Ranji’s confidence that matters.

In the final match, Ranji uses a borrowed bat and still scores well. He realises that success depends on self-belief, not on objects.

This story clearly shows that confidence is the true source of success.

Write back soon.

Yours lovingly,
Arjun.
