Types of Questions

1. Single Best Answer MCQs

Most questions are standard multiple-choice problems where you choose the most correct answer out of 3–5 options.
These test foundational knowledge in nursing theory and practice.

Example areas:

  • Infection control protocols.
  • Medication administration principles.
  • Ethics and patient rights

2. Clinical Scenario (Vignette) Questions

These present a short clinical scenario (patient case) and ask you to apply your knowledge to make the best clinical decision.

Example topics:

  • Prioritizing patient needs.
  • Assessing symptoms and making judgments.
  • Determining correct nursing interventions.

3. Application / Case-Based Questions

Similar to vignette style but more detailed. They require you to think through a mini-case involving symptoms, history, and clinical findings, and then choose the best response.

4. Knowledge Recall Questions

Some items test basic recall of facts, such as definitions, drug actions, or normal physiological values.

5. Calculation & Prioritization

In nursing, you may be asked to do simple medication calculations (e.g., dosage checks) or determine the correct priority of care. An on-screen calculator is usually provided if needed.
