Subject: Rising air pollution levels in cities

Sir,

Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities to the alarming rise in air pollution in our cities. Rapid urbanization, increasing number of vehicles, and industrial emissions have significantly deteriorated air quality.

The situation has become particularly dangerous for children, elderly people, and those suffering from respiratory diseases. Smog, dust, and harmful gases are causing serious health problems. Unfortunately, many people still remain unaware of the long-term consequences.

The government must take immediate steps such as promoting public transport, planting more trees, regulating industrial emissions, and encouraging the use of eco-friendly vehicles.

I hope the authorities will take prompt action to address this serious environmental issue.

Yours sincerely,
Ravi Kumar.

Subject: Poor condition of roads causing inconvenience

Sir,

I wish to draw the attention of the concerned authorities to the poor condition of roads in many parts of the city. Large potholes, broken surfaces, and poor drainage systems have made commuting extremely difficult for residents.

During the rainy season, these potholes fill with water and become invisible to drivers, causing frequent accidents and traffic congestion. Pedestrians and cyclists face even greater risks while using these damaged roads.

Despite repeated complaints from residents, the problem remains unresolved. The municipal authorities must repair damaged roads, improve drainage systems, and conduct regular maintenance to prevent further deterioration.

I hope this issue will receive immediate attention from the authorities for the safety and convenience of the public.

Yours faithfully,
Anita Sharma.

Subject: Excessive use of mobile phones among students

Sir,

Through your respected newspaper, I would like to highlight the growing problem of excessive mobile phone usage among students. While smartphones are useful tools for learning, their misuse has become a major concern.

Many students spend long hours on social media, gaming, and entertainment instead of focusing on their studies. This habit negatively affects their academic performance, physical health, and social interactions.

Parents and teachers must guide students on the responsible use of technology. Schools can also conduct awareness programmes about digital discipline and encourage outdoor activities.

I hope this issue will receive attention from parents, educators, and policymakers for the well-being of students.

Yours sincerely,
Rahul Verma.

Subject: Need for effective waste management in cities

Sir,

I would like to draw the attention of the authorities to the urgent need for better waste management systems in our cities. Overflowing garbage bins and improper disposal of waste have become common sights in many areas.

This not only creates unpleasant surroundings but also leads to serious health hazards such as the spread of diseases and pollution of water sources.

The municipal authorities should ensure regular garbage collection, promote waste segregation at source, and encourage recycling practices among citizens.

Public awareness campaigns can also play an important role in improving cleanliness and maintaining a healthy environment.

Yours faithfully,
Sanju Samson.

Subject: Rising Plastic Waste in Public Places Across Indian Cities

Sir/Madam,

Through the of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to the attention of the authorities and the towards the alarming of plastic waste in major Indian such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, and Hyderabad.

Public places railway stations, beaches, markets, parks, and terminals are filled with discarded bottles, food packets, carry bags. In cities Mumbai and Chennai, plastic waste often drainage systems, to severe flooding the monsoon season. Tourist spots and marketplaces are especially by careless of waste.

Plastic pollution is not damaging the beauty of our cities but creating serious environmental and health hazards. Animals often consume plastic materials, leading to injury and death. Burning plastic waste releases toxic gases into the air, contributing to respiratory diseases. Moreover, plastic waste pollutes rivers, lakes, and oceans, harming aquatic life and affecting water quality.

Although the government has introduced restrictions on single-use plastics, the implementation of these rules remains weak in many areas. Strict fines should be imposed on people who litter public spaces. More recycling units should be established, and awareness programmes must be conducted in schools, colleges, and residential communities. Citizens should also be encouraged to use cloth and paper bags instead of plastic products.

I request the concerned authorities to take immediate action to address this growing problem. Public cooperation and strict enforcement of rules are essential to keep our cities clean and environmentally safe.

I hope my letter will create awareness among readers and encourage responsible action.

Yours faithfully,

Anjali Menon.
