Scoring System

The PTE Academic scoring system ranges from 10 to 90 and is entirely computer-based, using artificial intelligence to ensure objective and consistent evaluation. It assesses four main communicative skills—speaking, writing, reading, and listening—along with enabling skills such as grammar, oral fluency, pronunciation, spelling, and vocabulary. Each question contributes to one or more skills, meaning that performance in a single task can affect multiple scores. The system uses a detailed algorithm to analyze responses based on accuracy, content, and language use, rather than human judgment. Scores are typically available within 48 hours, making it one of the fastest English proficiency tests in terms of result delivery.
