Product Description: Intubation in infants

Microcuff ® paediatric endotracheal tubes (ETT) have been designed to be anatomically correct for the paediatric airway and have a thinner, more distensible cuffed tube. The short cylindrical ultra-thin (10 micron) walled polyurethane, puncture resistant HVLP cuff is placed in the lower trachea, to allow expansion of the cuff for ‘tracheal sealing’ instead of ‘cricoid sealing’. They are capable of sealing at very low pressures (< 20 cms of water), average 11 cms of water compared to PVC ETT, which is almost half the pressure of conventional cuffed ETT. The cuff also fills the gap between tracheal wall and tube without folds and channels, clinging and draping to the wet mucosa almost like ‘clingfilm’ at lower pressures compared to PVC. There is maximum reduced air leak, improving the efficacy of ventilation. The microcuff endotracheal tube may be used by anaesthetists for specific situations i.e. facial / inhalation / burns.

Proceed to the Quiz:

The answer can be found in the final sentence. The three options are:

  1. All doctors (10) for some patients (5) in all cases (10).
  2. Some doctors (5) for some patients (5) in some cases (5).
  3. Some doctors (5) for all patients (10) in some cases (5).

Finally:

  1. Anesthetists (All doctors are not anesthetists)
  2. Specific situations (All situations are not specific situations / cases)
  3. Facial / inhalation / burns (All patients don’t have these conditions)

If you have understood so far, please proceed to the Quiz below:
