My student Mary called me at 3.10 today (28th August) when I was really waiting for my students who went for the exam. She was kind of excited about the exam and was going to give me more details.
Suddenly I asked her. “Did you know, the exam got leaked today..”
She was verbally shocked. Seeing that she had no idea about this, I asked her a few questions and confirmed two things:
- She had no idea about the leak;
- The exam she wrote today had been leaked.
Yes, it is confirmed. After a long interval of around 2 years, OET’s Question Papers have been just leaked!
Who are to be blamed?
OET is responsible for this Malpractice!
Many people think that some institutes are responsible. Although this is possible, we have no evidences. Whether it is done by institutes or individuals, the responsibility lies in OET alone.
- Why can’t OET prepare different sets of question papers?
- Why can’t the exams conducted on different days.
Being one of world’s most organized examination, OET should have taken all the precautions.
- How did this get leaked?
- Who circulated?
What’s next?
OET has to take the responsibility and allow all the candidates who have written this exam today. If OET is not ready to do this, all the candidates have to protest very seriously. Boycott OET and shift to IELTS.
What should you do now?
Be silent! Let’s wait for OET’s fair decision! Let them allow a 100% Free re-sit for all those who sat exam today.
- Any of your aggressive remarks in the social media can bring you into trouble!
- Wait till the result. We can’t say what OET is going to do.
- Share this post with all your friends immediately and let OET know about this!
Dear OET, we also know something else!
We love you OET, so we do not want to think that you are behind this malpractice. You are one of the most honest examination board. You are so transparent that you upgrade the scores after revaluation. However, some of us have started thinking like this is done by the board itself to make candidates write twice in the name of malpractices.
- Please allow all the candidates reappear for the next exam!
- 99% of had no idea about the question leakage, so, please do not withhold their result.
Please know, thousands of them borrowed money from banks to write this exam. Please be fair.
Since OET has not honored you with an answer after all these happenings (that’s really unfortunate!), let me give you my answers.
1. Will the next OET exam be difficult?
By all means, NO. The exam will be as easy as they were before or much easier. OET has a determined stand, so, it will not deviate from its policies. After the leakage incident 2 years ago, many exams were easy and thousands of candidates passed. Don’t forget those happy days!!
2. Will there be another case of leakage?
No one can say NO! There can be leakage but after a long time! This can be a natural or man or “woman” made disaster! Let’s hope that OET will harness such unfortunate incidents in the future!
3. Who are responsible for leakage?
Very difficult to answer. I have no idea while rumors are in the air, almost suffocating the lungs! Some say some institutes are responsible while others say individuals. There are also people who think that the exam board itself has leaked this paper because they are forced to do this to maintain a balance between the real demand for nurses in the UK and the number of passing out. Suppose there is not demand for nurses for the next three months? It is like filling a bus or train when passengers are very few. Anyway, rumors not just rumors.
4. Why are innocent candidates punished?
This is totally not understandable! OET is God so, when God punishes, the innocent are not spared. Remember, the same God will “bless” you next time! In spite of all, I still like this OET! Keep loving it!
5. Shall I shift to ILETS?
You can any time shift to IELTS because IELTS is not as difficult as you think. You are science students who have seen the world and got experience. Life has taught you many things – pain, suffering, empathy, technology, science – which is what IELTS is! Now, you have English too! Go for it any time! You can join my IELTS group to get the cheapest training on Zoom!
